It is within easy access to the Wales Coastal Path and is truly a spectacular location, we honestly feel privileged to live here.
Porth Ysgo lies within the 'Pen Llyn a'r Sarnau' Special Area of Conservation and has a diverse range of wildlife and marine habitats. Bottlenose Dolphins, Harbour Porpoises, Grey Seals and the rare Chough, which you can recognise from its harsh call, red legs and beak, can all be observed along the coast of Cardigan Bay. It's a haven for beach lovers, for walking enthusiasts with magnificent coastal and mountain walks and ideal for biking, bouldering, bird watching and fishing.

Porth Neigwl beach (Hell's Mouth), which is 4 miles long is one of the best surfing beaches in North Wales and located only a 10-minute drive from Ysgo. The popular village of Abersoch with its many fashion stores and cafes is also only a 15-minute drive away, where the large, sheltered bay provides ideal conditions for windsurfing, sailing, power boating and jet skiing. You will find golden sands, and everything form long stretches to secluded coves, all within a few miles of Ysgo.
Pwllheli our busy market town with its impressive new marina and two glorious beaches is only 13 miles away. Wednesday & Sunday is market day in Pwllheli, where there is always a bargain to be had. Also, in the town centre you will find many shops and supermarkets, selling everything you will need for your holiday.
Much of Llyn is rolling countryside, with many hills all worth a climb, like Mynydd Rhiw, Yr Eifl, Garn Fadryn and Garn Boduan to name a few. Why not set yourself the goal of conquering yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) Wales's highest peak, during your stay? All the hills give stunning views over Llyn and on a clear day Snowdonia, all of Cardigan Bay and Anglesey up to Holyhead Mountain.

Please find below a selection of comments taken from the ‘Visitor/Comment Book’ over the years;
We had a wonderful few days here. The most luxurious caravan we have stayed in, and certainly the window makes it! What more can we say that hasn’t been said already ditto marks under all of it. Many thanks Family Jones for letting us share your peace(!) of the countryside. Hope we shall see you again and all our best wishes. Mike & Les.
Wonderful welcome. The caravan is spacious with everything needed. Location fabulous with excellent views. Wildlife & walks wonderful. Star filled skies at night, the sound of the sea can be heard outside the caravan. As if all this was not enough the weather was unbelievable. Sunshine every day, no rain. Brought warm clothing & waterproofs, had to go and buy sun cream. Thank you Esyllt & Rob. Hope to be back next year. Ernie & Elaine.
Such a wonderful place. As the sun and the wind move over the land the long grasses move wavelike. All the birds in the neighbourhood seem to visit the feeders in the hawthorn, but something of a puzzle, what happened to the fat balls placed in feeder in one morning, two big fat balls disappeared leaving not a crumb in the container. What bird or creature could be responsible or could a human prankster be involved? We spend a fantastic 4 1/2 – 5 hours on a boat trip to Bardsey. The weather was perfect and Colin (the boat man) full of fascinating facts about the sea, land and folklore – do go! This our second visit but will not be our last. The caravan answers every one of our needs, couldnt be better. Paul & Pat.
Another wonderful stay at Ysgo again, (fourth visit)! The weather has been mixed, but only got wet one day; on a soggy coastal walk to Aberdaron. The caravan is so warm and cosy it didn’t matter, we soon got warm and dry, and its great having the shed and washing machine to put all the wet things in. We’ve had two glorious days of sunshine since, and the girls have been having a wonderful time on Whistling Sands and Ysgo beach. Aberdaron is as lovely as ever, the bakery is no good for the waist line though (the best welsh cakes ever). The girls have been pony riding this year at Cilan Fawr (the headland next to Abersoch). Its not cheat! but worth the treat! one hours walk on the stunning headland, with great views over the Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia. The girls loved it (me too). We’ve seen the Barn Owl a couple of times, hares too. Thank you again for sharing this special place and for the wine & sweets. We will most definitely be back. Love Lorraine, Paul, Edie & Poppy
Another super holiday, thank you so much! This spot is magical, the beaches and the view cannot be beaten. We found a starfish for the first time. The girls have become mini surfers and we made friends with a goat (Henry we love you). The new caravan is ridiculously luxurious an en-suite!! And possibly the best shower in the universe. We were toasty and comfortable and could not ask for more. Needless to say we will be back. It is lovely to see Jac growing and fingers crossed for the new family home. We love this holiday, see you in a year! All the best and much affection. Neal, Simi, Esther & Rita
Cracking views and a perfect place to relax never had our own private beach before! What a treat enjoyed seeing the calves, lambs & buzzards and not doing much for a few days. Lovely to meet Jac and family and thank you for the warm welcome. Hope to learn a bit more Welsh for next time a massive DIOLCH to you all. Pete, Becky, Elliott & Toby
Thank you for greeting us on our arrival. Caravan 1st class, everything you require, very clean, very comfortable, heating good. Nice walk down to the beach. Very interesting seeing old mine workings, beautiful waterfall, also spotted a lizard. Nice birds around caravan, Chuffinch, Robins, Blue Tits also saw a fox going across field and a stoat on beach path. Liked Aberdaron quaint place. Thanking you once again for all your hard work, stunning views from caravan. Freda & Marry. p.s. Patio area and decking very nice.
Enjoyed a lovely week biking and walking. Weather has been good and location fantastic. No motorways, dual carriageways or police sirens! Just peace and quiet. Sad to be going home, hope to be back again. Thanks Wayne & Jill
‘Had a great 4 night stay in the caravan. Watched the barn owl and hares from the window – fantastic sight. Walked up to Mynydd Penarfynydd and Mynydd y Graig – great views, saw choughs up there. Have been to Whistling Sands, Morfa Nefyn and Porth Dinllaen, Plas yn Rhiw (National Trust Small House & Garden) interesting house and lovely gardens then on to Hells Mouth Bay. Fantastic weather, really hot. Had a great meal at the Ship, Aberdaron. I had red snapper fish and Paul had duck. Lovely clean caravan. Thanks very much’. Helen & Paul
‘What a fantastic holiday, we can’t quite believe it’s over. It’s been a week of firsts. 1st time in the Llyn Peninsula, 1st hol with our 2 yr old daughter (who’s had an absolute ball), 1st sighting of wild adders near the caravan and 1st time we’ve caught and eaten fresh sea-bass from the rocks to the right of the beach (an unexpected treat). We’ve been jammy with the weather, arriving in a heatwave, had 1 days rain, oh well can’t have everything, but the cosy, well equipped caravan provided by the Jones’ sorted that day out. Spent 3 days on the beach at Whistling Sands (a must visit) our little girls favourite place, sand, paddling and ice cream, all a 2 yr old needs. We’d be lying if we said we won’t be back. Rob & Esyllt thank you and what a place to bring little Jac up’. Graeme, Julie & Grace
‘My car refused to start not long after I got here – so it really was a walking holiday! The lanes are beautiful at this time of year, and the footpaths even better! I’ve seen choughs, oyster catchers, a heron (on the beach!) lots of buzzards and a slow worm. No barn owl though. All the beaches near here are fantastic but Ysgo is hard to beat. I have been very, very lucky with the weather – sunny throughout my second week and not too bad the first week. The caravan is perfect in every way and was lovely and warm & cosy on the couple of occasions that it was wet & windy. I can’t imagine that I well ever go on holiday anywhere else from now on. Many thanks’. Sue
‘We are true ‘Townies’! This place had no shops, no traffic, no people and so much peace, we were actually scared to start with …. but it was absolutely fantastic! Our own private beach and views to die for. Thank you for your very warm welcome and for sharing your bit of Wales with us’. Debs & Steve
‘A hidden jewel on the coast. Breathtaking scenery, solitude, restful.’ Lewis Family & Co.
