Looking to get away from it all for a bit of peace and quiet in the countryside.

Our comfortable spacious static caravan situated on Castlewigg Holiday Park has double glazing and central heating throughout. There is an open plan lounge and kitchen/diner with gas fire, The lounge has a 44" flatscreen TV with Freesat. The kitchen is fully fitted with oven, grill, hob,  fridge with freezer compartment as well as microwave, kettle, toaster and all crockery and utensils.

The 2 bedrooms, (1 double and 1 twin room) all have plentiful storage. The bathroom with shower, toilet and sink has access off the double bedroom as well as the hallway, and a second WC. There is also a double sofa bed in the lounge. Let us know if additional bedding is required for this.

All towels and bed linen are included.

This caravan is located in the quiet and tranquil walled paddock on Castlewigg Holiday Park.This area of Scotland has some of the mildest of the Scottish weather, attributed, to the nearby gulf stream, and is set in rolling countryside with nearby beautiful beaches and rugged coastline, and the nearby Galloway Hills. 
The "Machars" region is Ideal for walking, trekking and cycling and outdoor pursuits.

Only 90 minutes from the border at Carlisle, 2 hours drive from Glasgow and 3 hours from Edinburgh and Newcastle.

Amongst the many local attractions are the lovely coastal villages of Garlieston, Isle of Whithorn and Port William. Wigtown (Scotland's Book town) is just a 15 minute drive away, and the the "Dark Sky" award winning Galloway Forest and Hills are a short and pleasant drive.

Historic castles and landmarks abound across the local countryside.

We are also just 35 minutes from the Ferry to Northern Ireland if you fancy a day trip across the water.

Prices start from £50 a night in low season, (minimum booking is for 2 nights subject to availability). Discount is available for bookings of 7 nights or more. All prices are inclusive of  bedding, towels, electricity, and gas.

A £60 Security deposit required to confirm your booking. ( The Security deposit is refunded within 72hrs of departure ,providing there is no damage/loss/excess cleaning , and the caravan is left in the same condition as when you arrived).

*** COVID RESTRICTIONS on TRAVEL and PARK CLOSURE -  will result in all money already paid being fully refunded, or an offer to rebook an alternative suitable date.

Bookings to be paid in full 6 weeks (42 days) prior to start date. Cancellations within 42 days of the booking start date will result in loss of deposit, and any monies already paid unless the caravan is re booked. 

Early check in and late check out can be accommodated where possible.

There are many different things you can do close to Castlewigg. Whether you want to go for a relaxing stroll, enjoy a round of golf or want to try your hand at fishing there is something for all!

Our location has the unique benefit of being warmed by the Gulf Stream which provides warmer weather and sea temperates than anywhere else in Scotland. Meaning the area is home to different wildlife and flowers that wouldn’t survive anywhere else in Scotland.

The park is situated 18 miles south of Newton Stewart and only 2 miles north of Whitehorn surrounded by unspoilt countryside and there is a selection of sandy beaches just 5 miles away. The ideal retreat for those seeking peace, tranquillity and outdoor adventure.

Walking, cycling, birdwatching or a round of golf are just a few of the activities that you could undertake. Maybe you wish to explore the array of coastlines, towns and villages scattered throughout the Machars Penninsula.
